Diabetes Alert Day, March 27

Tuesday, March 27 is Diabetes Alert Day.  This day focuses on Type 2 diabetes, the causes, what can be done to improve your health if you are diagnosed with Type 2.  Several weeks ago ADA had a call for stories and I shared mine.  ADA blogged four stories about people who have either been diagnosed and reversed Type 2 or did something before they were diagnosed, like I have.  You can read the stories here http://diabetesstopshere.org/2012/03/26/success-stories/

There are events all over the country tomorrow, and for the rest of the week in many places. There is a Lunch and Learn event on campus at UA and, of course, the Spin-A-Thon on Saturday that you are all probably tired of hearing about.

Advocacy is essential to raise awareness and to educate people about diabetes. There are many ways to do this through raising money, educational programs, and participating in events. Visit the ADA website to learn more.
