Step one: Collecting more coins

When I was considering going to ETSU to earn an M.A. in Storytelling, Joseph Sobol said it was like collecting coins. I already had three graduate degrees at the time so this was just another coin in my collection. I have started the journey towards collecting another coin.

Today I received a letter from The University of Alabama Graduate School admitting me as a non-degree candidate in the M.A. in Health Studies.  I need to do the paperwork for admission but it won’t take me very long.  I will start classes next month in the distance program.  (Yes, Spring semester in the Distance Ed program begins in November.)  I am quite excited about this step and about the classes.  I’m looking forward to thinking about ways that I can combine my personal journey with my background in education, storytelling, and librarianship with the field of health studies. This will also allow me to learn more about health behaviors and education and to explore my passion for helping people live healthier lives.
